CLASS DESCRIPTION

Julien Kanor : Play and Flow: In this class you will warm up playfully with games and spontaneous movement. Class will progress to moving skills across the space preparing the dancers for the phrase material. The culmination of class is the buttery phrase work that seems to have to have end and no beginning, inviting a state of flow and pleasure

Bio: Julien is a performer, choreographer, and teacher from Guadeloupe, a tiny Caribbean French Island. He performs hip-hop, contemporary, Afro dance, African dance, and House styles. He has worked with the following New York companies: Angel Feliciano (hip-hop); Kanu Dance Theater (Haitian and Modern); Franck Muhel (Salsa and Bele dance from Martinique); Kotchegna (African); and Eva Dean Dance (Modern). Julien has been a teaching artist with ECDC for several years and has also been on faculty at Connecticut College. In addition to performing on stages, he also performs in films. In recent years, Julien made a film debut dancing in the Hallmark movie, “Holidays for Hero’s.”
